Northwest companies that are making environmental excellence part of their business success can now enter the Northwest Business Environment Awards 2010.

Now in its eighth successive year, the Northwest Business Environment Awards is searching for the green business heroes of 2010 across companies both large and small, including entrepreneurs and new start-ups. Deadline for entries to the Northwest Business Environment Awards 2010 is May 14th.

Businesses from across Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire can enter one or more of the award categories from environmental innovation, built environment, best environmental practice to media and communication, and environmental leadership.

In acknowledgment of the region’s work to reduce its carbon footprint, there is an extra award for 2010 to highlight companies that can demonstrate real results toward combating climate change either through mitigation or adaptation. The new Combating Climate Change award is open to all businesses regardless of size, location or service.

Hosted by award-winning environmental business support programme, ENWORKS, the region’s most prestigious green award scheme is backed by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), Northwest Business Insider, Environment Agency, Envirolink Northwest, Groundwork Northwest, Institute of Directors and Foundation, the climate fund for the North West.
